At SmithBates Printing and Design, we combine experienced people and modern technology to deliver premium offset printing and digital printing products. SmithBates proudly offers a menu of proven capabilities from pre-press services to output services in order to meet the ever-growing demands of marketing communications all with the environment in mind.

Pre-Press

SmithBates has prepress technicians and production coordinators using the latest software and state-of-the-art hardware. Modern workstations and digital color proofs offer the ability to precisely review your project before printing.

Offset Printing

Multi-Color

We specialize in long brochure runs of four-color process with 5th and 6th spot colors and special coating. Run lengths can be in the 5,000 to 75,000 ranges. Using multi-color printing we can produce high-end corporate marketing materials. Brochures, booklets and signage are our specialty.

One and Two Color

Our capacity includes long run one-color work that can include printing both sides of the paper at the same time, or longer run two-color work. Run lengths can be from 1,000 to 100,000 or more. We can produce a wide variety of one and two-color folded materials, labels, posters, and more.

Digital Printing

Digital printing technology enables us to deliver printed materials to your door in as little as one day. This cost-effective method of producing marketing materials, on-demand, enables your business to improve target markets and reduce inventories.

Run lengths vary from 250 to 50,000 brochure items or 300 or more catalog style books on all paper types up to 16 pt. board stocks. In addition, we offer high volume color toner-based digital printing with the ability to include in-line saddlestitching. We also offer variable data capabilities for on-demand printed materials that are personalized directly to specific interests.

Our Heidelberg Direct imaging press' thermal plate imaging is efficient and precise. Digital printnig is waterless and needs no fountain solution, reducing paper waste, and drying time, and ensures consistent color throughout the press run.

Small Format

We pride ourselves on our ability to create short run forms, labels, stationery, and envelopes. We can produce your office forms and printed materials in two-color format in run lengths from 250 to 10,000 or more.

Large Format

Our large format printing capabilities are perfect for short-run large format indoor signage and banners up to 44 inches in width. Our printers use ultrachrome inks on assorted media. We also offer laminating on projects up to 38 inches.

Support Services

Bindery

We offer complete in-house automated modern bindery services with multiple folders, collators, high-speed booklet makers, saddlestitchers and wire-o binding. We also have automated specialty taping, Mylar reinforcing, die-cutting and numbering. The in-house bindery supports quick turn-around times on all project types.

Design Team

We are proud to have a dedicated team of staff professionals with extensive experience in creative design and artwork. All of our designers have knowledge of the latest technologies in print media and are certified with continuing education in Adobe Creative Suite Expert Level training, and are experts with Adobe PDF and file manipulation. In addition, several staff members have illustration and Photoshop expertise.

Mailing and Fulfillment

Our mailing services feature CASS certification software with the capabilities of producing automated direct mail projects in ranges from 500 to 25,000 mailers. In fulfillment, we have 10,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space as well as a state-of-the-art inventory management system to track inventory for our customers.

Online Order and Inventory Tracking

At SmithBates, we are extremely proud to offer a robust and flexible variable data and static online product ordering system. This system allows multiple users to access templates and place customized orders. The system is available online 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We offer onsite IT staff experts who can build customized templates for specific business needs. In addition, we offer the ability to track available quantities of your materials, eliminating the danger of suddenly running out. Our password-protected system lets you order and check inventory levels online. And it saves coutless pages of paper.
